What makes The Promontory Academy different from other online schools?
The Promontory Academy is a private, online, globally available (where regulations approve) school offering a transformational education for students in upper elementary through the middle years. Our students graders will be able to continue through graduation as we will open our online high school model in 2026.
Our students engage deeply with critical thinking, creative problem-solving, interdisciplinary learning, and real-world application — all connected through our Global Challenges and Solutions (GC&S) model.
Each lesson is created and introduced by highly experienced, licensed teachers, with students progressing asynchronously through a carefully structured academic program. Students are never left to navigate alone — they have regular, tiered access to their teachers for feedback, support, and guidance.
Our teachers collaborate regularly to ensure cohesiveness and unity of instruction, providing a seamless, interdisciplinary learning experience across the core subjects.

Is The Promontory Academy accredited?
The Promontory Academy has been accepted as a member of Cognia, a highly respected international accrediting body. We will actively pursue full accreditation and anticipate being fully accredited in 2026.

Who creates and guides the classes?
Our faculty consists of experienced, licensed educators with global expertise. They do far more than deliver content — they design, introduce, guide, and mentor.
Teachers at The Promontory work collaboratively, meeting regularly to ensure that instruction is cohesive, interdisciplinary, and fully aligned with our school’s mission and learning model.
In our DIY (do-it-yourself) tier, parents who choose to teach our curriculum on their own will receive guidance and a complete home-teaching manual.
When do you open?
We’re currently welcoming a small, limited group of students as we design individual curriculum for them and get them underway. Our full program rollout is in progress and will be available in late summer.
What is the daily schedule like?
Whatever the student needs it to be! Students move through their structured academic program asynchronously, allowing for flexibility while our team helps to maintain clear expectations and reach progress milestones.
How do you ensure students are engaged in an online environment?
Our students aren’t simply “consuming” information — they are creators, collaborators, and critical thinkers from day one.
In addition to dynamic, structured coursework, students have regular access to teacher interaction, project-based learning opportunities, and interdisciplinary challenges.
We also offer age-leveled Student Collaboration Rooms through our online platform, allowing students to work together on projects, share ideas, and participate in peer mentorship as they grow.
For students in 8th grade and beyond, the opportunity to earn the prestigious Global Brain Trust Achievement provides an additional pathway for leadership, deeper inquiry, and global engagement.

Yes. The Promontory Academy provides a fully structured academic program with all curriculum and instructional design handled by licensed educators. In essence, we can act as your online homeschool curriculum provider.
Students move through their coursework independently but with teacher tiered guidance and support available as needed.
Families receive a Parent & Guardian Handbook at enrollment, offering clear direction, expectations, and ways to stay connected to their student’s progress.
Parents are partners in supporting the learning journey of their child — but they are not responsible for building or delivering the curriculum. That’s our job.
This seems expensive. How do you compare to other online school options, and where is the value in what you’re asking?

What technology does my child need to attend?
Students will need a reliable internet connection, and a laptop or desktop computer with a camera and microphone. A headset is optional. All digital resouces and support platforms are included in tuition, at all tier levels. That’s the power of the collective.
A quiet, orgarnized learning space at home is also recommended to maximize focus and success.
