In 1854, Nobody Knew What Was Killing Them

Cholera was tearing through Soho. The prevailing theory was bad air. A physician named John Snow doubted it, so he did something unfashionable. He counted. He mapped every death against the nearest water pump. Around one pump on Broad Street, 120 dead. A few streets further out, 12.

That is a week in a TPA unit. The student reads the parish registers, works the arithmetic, weighs the population-weighted rate against the simple average, and by Friday has to put a claim on paper and say what would prove them wrong.

They are not covering the scientific method. They are doing it, on a real street, with real numbers that do not resolve cleanly, which is the whole point.

And that is just one week. There are thirty-six, built across six themed arcs, and nothing is ever taught twice. What a student learned in week two, they need again in week twenty, with no reminder and no reteaching.
